Counting Down to Production!

The cinematographer is here! Professor Steven Berry arrived yesterday May 23rd. We finalized his accommodations at a beautiful spacious apartment in Paradise View called Lord View Manor. We got him a room with a view. He can see the ocean since the chances of him getting to it in the coming weeks are slim…lots of work ahead. The rest of the crew arrives on May 30th.

We had rehearsals with the cast, which included actor Peter Williams who is already on island. Howard and Veron also spent some time discussing the dance sequence for the Soucouyant. Now that Steven is here we will all meet again.

We finalized our arrangements for the catamaran. We went on board. It is perfect. It is spacious and has a lot of character. While the owner Greame Knott is away Roger Gardiner will be our Marine Logistics Manager. Roger apparently has done similar work on other productions.

We also discovered some interesting locations with Terry Bowen as our guide. We hiked about a mile on Jones Valley Trail, which is maintained by the Royal Navy Tot Club of Antigua and Barbuda. Terry who was celebrating his 73rd birthday on the day of the hike made light work of the rugged terrain while the rest of us struggled keep up!
