It was another successful day. We arrived on the set at 5:30 a.m. breakfast was late so the crew started to set up for the first scene….by the time breakfast arrived, lights were already in place. Tom Pritchard a drama student and intern from the UK joined the crew today. At first Tom was working along with the script supervisor Lorraine then I saw him on boom and lights. Tom got boom duty because he was the tallest person in the room…next to professor Berry. Rehearsal started at 7 a.m. and we were wrapped by 3:30 p.m. It turned out to be a regular working day. ..so much for my advance panicking.
We could have been done earlier but a heavy downpour of rain delayed recording sound. We could hear the rain on the roof of the house. During one of the breaks professor Berry caught a nap…while Howard briefed the actors about the scenes ahead. Brent Simon was on set for the first time and admitted later that he was very nervous. However he delivered. Both Brent and Aisha did a very good job. They are naturals and I think the time they spent in rehearsals with veteran actor Peter Williams was a tremendous help. Howard is very pleased.
More rain is predicted for tomorrow. I’m hoping they are wrong since we have some scenes to shoot outdoors with a car from Antigua Motors. I would hate for them to bring the car to the location and not be able to do the scene as planned.
Sara our special effects makeup artist checked in with us as well via Skype. Her belly project is going well except now, it’s getting very heavy and shipping is going to be very expensive. At first she was working with cement powder and is now considering rubber and hoping it would be just as effective. I wish I could tell you what is going to happen with that belly but I can’t! Sara doesn’t even want us to open the box when it arrives. Time is running out on acquiring all the necessary items prior to shipping. She sent some photos for us to see her progress. She returns to Antigua on June 6th.
